Common questions

Does the game cost anything?

No. Lumi is free. There are no ads and no in-app purchases. Fireflies, hats and trails are all earned by playing.

Do we need the internet?

No. Lumi plays fully offline, even in Airplane Mode.

What ages is Lumi for?

Lumi is rated 4+. The words are written for readers about 6 to 8, and younger children enjoy it with a grown-up nearby. There are no timers, so everyone can play at their own pace.

Where is my progress saved?

On your iPhone. If you delete the app, your progress is deleted too. Progress does not move between devices.

How do I start over?

Open the map, tap the gear for Settings, and choose Start over. The game asks you to confirm first.

Can I turn off the music or the shaking?

Yes. Settings has switches for sound, music and Calm mode, which means less shaking and motion.

Where are the Bible verses and talk prompts?

Each world opens with its verse. To see all six verses and talk prompts at once, open Settings and choose For Grown-ups. You can replay The Light Story, the ending about Jesus, from there too.

Which Bible translation does Lumi use?

The World English Bible (WEB), a modern English translation in the public domain.

Does Lumi work on iPad?

Version 1.0 is made for iPhone. iPad may come in a later update.

The sound is off. What do I check?

Make sure Sound and Music are on in Settings and the volume is up. Tap the screen once, since iPhone waits for a first touch before a game can play sound.
